Merry Christmas and happy New Year

We would like to wish all our customers and contacts a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. We look back on 2020 with gratitude for the strong collaboration we have built internally and for the good relationships we have with our customers. It is because of them that we have had a good year in spite of everything.

Even more flexibility in TRS

In 2020 we relocated the Copenhagen branch of EKTOS Testing & Reliability Services (TRS) to Avedøre Holme which is in the Greater Copenhagen area, where we now have a larger test laboratory allowing us to handle larger products and more customers than before. We also have a new, spacious office. In addition to the physical framework, EKTOS TRS has achieved a more flexible ISO 17025 test lab accreditation by DANAK, as we now have flexible scope. This allows us to carry out accredited tests according to new standards that are similar to the standards we are already accredited for but without DANAK having to approve it in advance.

Focus on IoT solutions

In our development department, we have focused on IoT solutions the past year and explored the vast possibilities available with NB-IoT, Sigfox, and 3G/4G. This summer, LED iBond and their partners were awarded 9.6 million DKK for the further development of their IoT-activated LED panels, which we have helped to develop. The journey with LED iBond continues, and we are very much looking forward to it. EKTOS has participated in a number of other IoT projects this year, including helping to develop BeAware’s sensor solution for measuring indoor climate in real-time. Our knowledge of power budgeting with the purpose of achieving the desired battery size and lifetime was put to the test. We have compiled our knowledge about battery-powered products and we hope to be able to share it in a seminar next year.

During the year, we have entered into new partnerships with ST Microelectronics and Arrow Electronics. We are looking forward to developing and exploring the possibilities together with our new partners.

Collaboration at a distance is in our DNA

Since 2007, we have practiced communicating effectively with each other across departments and with customers in Ukraine, Denmark, and internationally. In 2020 our skills within virtual communication have proved their worth. However, we certainly hope that we can meet physically more often next year!
