EKTOS DEV is set to deliver a Proof of Concept (PoC) project for one of our esteemed clients. Our team has designed a new IoT Tuya Smart-connected product, the ESP32-C2 (ESP8684 SoC) Power Constrained WiFi/BLE product, which is set to extend the typical ESP32 portfolio by the battery-capable SoMs.
The ESP32 SoM has been a popular choice for WiFi and BLE connectivity, but it has been limited to mains-powered devices. However, our team has successfully managed to get the power efficiency out of it, thanks to the embedded RISC-V core and Deep Sleep mode, which allows for a mere 5 uA of power consumption with the running RTC. This cost-effective solution is ideal for Matter-enabled sensors, where older ESP32 modules are too power-hungry, and the Thread network is too slow or has too low throughput.
