PROMISE KEPT! TECHTO DELIVERS FOR AIRWALLET
AirWallet ApS is a mobile payment system for shared laundries. Today the company based in Odense, Denmark has 13 employees and operates in more than 15 countries.
After the idea for the cashless payment solution for laundromats was born in 2017, the founders of Airwallet were looking for a company to develop their product and get it to market as fast as possible. The EKTOS group of companies could help. EKTOS has developed a controller with Bluetooth control for the product while TECHTO produced prototypes, first series and later ramped up the mass production to line up with Airwallet’s customers’ demand.
At the moment EKTOS continues to support the product by updating the design during the product’s life cycle. For example, when facing the issue of shortage of electronic components as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, EKTOS found a solution by redesigning the controller. That helped to improve its manufacturability but also resulted in BOM cost optimization by approximately 20%. At the same time, TECHTO was able to adjust its production line in a way that the process of changing product versions happens smoothly.
TECHTO is proud to host the production of Airwallet in our factory in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine and appreciates the customer’s trust to place the first as well as all the following orders with us despite the risks that the war brings to the country. We also appreciate the willingness of Airwallet’s founder and owner, Christian Mortensen and one of his colleagues, to visit our production site in September 2022.

on a competitive level and support its manufacturability over the years. Today there are more than 3000 Airwallet boxes installed and active worldwide.

Forventninger indfriet! TECHTO leverer støt til AIRWALLET
AirWallet ApS er et app baseret betalingssystem beregnet til vaskerier i f.eks boligforeninger eller kollegier. Airwallet er en startup virksomhed fra Odense, der nu har 13 medarbejdere og allerede er aktive i 15 lande.
Ideen til et bedre betalingssystem uden kontanter blev udviklet i 2017. Stifterne bag ideen ledte efter en virksomhed, der kunne rykke hurtigt med at bringe produktet på markedet. EKTOS blev valgt og EKTOS udviklingsafdeling udviklede en bluetooth baseret kontroller, mens TECHTO producerede prototyper og senere har rampet produktionen op til større produktion i takt med den stigende efterspørgsel.
I de seneste par år har både EKTOS og TECHTO understøttet AirWallet’s forretning og produkt gennem optimeringer, men også ændringer for at imødekomme komponentmangel. Der er blandt andet er gennemført et redesign hvor hovedcontrolleren er skiftet til en mere tilgængelig type, samtidigt med at stykliste prisen kunne reduceres 20%. Ved at gennemføre opdateringen i et tæt samarbejde mellem udvikling og produktion kunne overgangen mellem ny og gammel version ske glidende så der ikke blev store huller i leveringsevnen.
I TECHTO er vi stolte af, at vi har kunnet facilitere produktionen af Airwallet’s produkter i vores produktion I Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine på et kritisk tidspunkt, hvor overgangen mellem 2 forskellige produktversioner skulle styres i masseproduktion, Vi er også taknemmelige for at Airwallet har turdet satse på vores produktion, trods de risici krigen har bragt ind, som specielt i starten var svære at vurdere.
Airwallet’s stifter og ejer Christian Mortensen og en af hans kolleger var også en af de første kunder, der besøgte os i Ivano-Frankivsk i september 2022 efter krigens start.
Airwallet udtrykker at de har været meget tilfredse med samarbejdet med EKTOS og TECHTO, der sammen kunne udvikle og sætte Airwallet kontrolleren i produktion på kort tid til konkurrencedygtig pris, men specielt at der har været et aktivt samarbejde omkring produktet efter lancering. Der er i dag installeret mere end 3.000 Airwallet bokse rundt omkring i verden.
